Sparrow – the popular Mail app alternative, which is currently available for both OS X and iOS – has been acquired by Google. The news hit the Web via Sparrow itself, in an email sent to users, and in a Twitter update (@sparrow). Furthermore, the acquisition was explained in more depth online, at Sparrow’s website.
