Last Saturday, Apple’s App Store algorithm appeared to have been adjusted, and as a result you might have had some difficulty finding any particular given iOS app. Essentially, keyword searches – like “Twitter,” for example – were not pulling up the kind of results you’d expect. Download numbers were favoured instead of iOS app names, according to iDownloadBlog, and the whole affair was a bit of a mess.
However, we have some good news: according to a number of reports, Apple has re-adjusted its iOS App Store, and search results have picked up. Don’t expect this to be the end of the antics, though, as Apple will likely make a number of further adjustments to its App Store – especially after purchasing Chomp, and most particularly in the wake of the all-new iTunes revamp we’ve heard so much about.
As always, we’ll keep you posted.
