Apple’s iPad has started being removed from Chinese retail stores, due to a dispute regarding the iPad trademark which we told you about recently. Apparently, at five p.m. on Saturday authorities seized iPads from two separate retailers, though as of this moment it’s unclear whether this is a nationwide effort, or if local authorities are expected to deal with the issue individually. The trademark dispute could see Apple face fines of up to $38 million. Perhaps more of a concern would be the fact that Apple would have to stop using the “iPad” name in China, if the Cupertino, CA company loses the legal battle. If any more information regarding the iPad situation in China hits the Web, we’ll let you know. In the meantime, you can check out the original reports at DigiCha and China.com.cn.
