A report from The Globe and Mail - a Canadian newspaper – claims that Apple has already approached two Canadian carriers regarding the company’s upcoming HDTV device (the “iTV”). Furthermore, these two carriers – Rogers and Bell – reportedly already have the HDTV in their possession, according to one source familiar with the matter. The report claims that Apple is looking to partner with companies for the launch of its HDTV device, explaining why both Rogers and Bell are purportedly in possession of the iTV. Though this sounds absurd, Apple is rumored to have handed its original iPad around numerous companies before officially unveiling it back in 2010, suggesting that there could be some truth behind this report. The Globe and Mail also notes that the iTV will be powered by Siri, and that users can also control the device using gestures – by waving their hands at the television set. It is also claimed that an on-screen keyboard can be accessed, via which users can search the Web, or access Facebook and Twitter, among other services. Though do remember that nothing has yet been announced by Apple – so don’t get too excited. As always, we’ll keep you posted.
