A variety of reports from All Things Digital claim that Apple will announce the iPhone 5 on October 4, and that the media event will not be held in downtown San Francisco, but on the Apple Campus in Cupertino, CA. Earlier this week, the popular website claimed that the handset would be announced on October 4. Now, in an article to hit the Web earlier today, All Things Digital notes that the October 4 event will take place on the Apple Campus, and not in San Francisco (at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, or anywhere else).

It’s possible, considering this is Apple CEO Tim Cook’s first media event as chef executive officer, and also considering that last October, Apple’s “Back to the Mac” event took place in the Apple Campus auditorium.
