It’s hardly surprising news, but two of the five fake Chinese Apple Stores we told you about last week have been shut down by Chinese officials, and if you ask me it wouldn’t be unexpected if the remaining three followed soon. The owners of the stores and their employees aren’t too happy, with one claiming “there is no Chinese law that says I can’t decorate my shop the way I want to decorate it.” Fortunately, China feels a little different (apparently, Apple hasn’t contacted the company’s government regarding the issue). Now, for the humor: Yu Cheng, the wheeling-dealing mastermind behind these “fake” stores has decided that selling Apple goods really is what he wants to do with his life, so he’s contacted Cupertino asking if he can open an official Apple Store. Good luck with that.
