A recent report by DigiTimes claims that Amazon will launch its range of tablet PCs in either August or September. The Kindle-making company is hoping to sell around four million units in 2011, according to the devices’ Taiwanese component manufacturers. While this may seen like an agressive figure, we should remember that Amazon has already established itself in the consumer electronics industry with its famous Kindle Wireless Reading Device, along with the Kindle Store (via which users can purchase e-books). The question, however, is whether Amazon’s tablet will have the strength to steal the tablet-crown off Apple’s iPad. Only time will tell.
